CONFERENCE NEW DATES
WED 7 to Fri 9 SEPTEMBER 2022
Message from ACMHN President, Mike Hazelton
Following advice from the Scientific Committee and extensive discussions with the CEO and Events Manager, the ACMHN Board has decided to delay the 46th International Mental Health Nursing Conference from Wednesday 4 – Friday 6 May 2022 to later in the year. We understand this decision will cause considerable disappointment. However, it was considered necessary, given the impact of the Omicron variant on our members and colleagues in nursing, the impact of the Code Brown in Victoria and the uncertainty around travel and event attendance during this period. The conference is set for the new dates of Wednesday 7 to Friday 9 September 2022 to be hosted at the same venue, JW Marriott Resort and Spa at the same location, the Gold Coast.
Fortunately, the majority of keynote speakers have confirmed for the new dates including Grace Tame, Kim Foster and Alison McMillan. Details for the postponed program are being finalised at present and an updated conference program will be available shortly. The ACMHN is pleased to offer registered delegates the option to roll forward registrations to the new dates in September. All bookings will remain unchanged and carried over to the new date unless requested otherwise. We would be most grateful for your support to roll the event forward and retain your registration for the new dates. The College is working hard in conjunction with our host venue to maintain the low costs for delegates on the new dates.
A full refund will be offered to any delegates unable to attend on the new dates and if this is your preference please respond via email with a refund request. We do however encourage you to roll forward your registration to support the College and help our efforts to maintain course for our conference on the postponed dates. Keep in mind you will be able to revisit your decision for attendance and a full refund can be offered up to 90 days prior to the new dates. We encourage you to roll your registration forward with the option to revisit again should you need to.
Any accommodation bookings made with the JW Marriott Resort and Spa will receive an email directly regarding rolling your booking forward or a full refund. Please watch out for an email in the coming days regarding your accommodation and we look forward to assisting you here if you have made reservations at the JW Marriott.
Thank you for your understanding around this very difficult decision to postpone yet again. On behalf of the ACMHN, the Board of Directors apologises for any inconvenience or disappointment caused by the postponement. We want to assure delegates this decision was very disappointing for the staff and Committees that work so hard on delivering the conference. We know this annual event is such an important part of the mental health nursing calendar and we are determined to bring you an excellent program and opportunity to reconnect at the conference in September.
We look forward to seeing you in September.!
Warm regards,
Mike Hazelton
